Kitchen Sinks

The sink is one of the most important and most used part of the kitchen. Because kitchen sinks are used both in meal preparation and cleanup after eating, customers are looking for kitchen sinks to be versatile, durable in addition to looking great in their kitchens.

Kitchen sinks come in a variety of shapes, sizes, materials and styles.

Type of Mount:

Self-Rimming Sinks: Self-rimming sinks, sometimes called drop in sinks, are the most popular and most affordable type of kitchen sink. Drop in sinks mount via a rim around the sink that sits on the countertop, while the rest of the sink fits into a cutout.

Undermount Sinks: Undermount sinks have seen a recent surge in popularity mirroring the rise natural stone or quartz. Because these sinks are mounted under the counter, they both look seamless and allow for easy clean up.

Integrated Sinks: Integrated sinks are manufactured as part of the larger counter top or island. Integrated sinks do not have a grout line, provide a seamless look and easy cleanup. They are made out of the same material as counter tops: quartz, granite, stainless steel and even marble.

Tile-In Sinks: Tile-in sinks are made to fit into tiled countertops. They have squared off corners and sides to fit in with those tiles.

Apron Front Sinks: Apron front sinks, sometimes referred to farmhouse sinks, feature an exposed front side of the sink. They are meant to fit into a space cut out of the counter.

Material:

Stainless Steel: Stainless steel is the most popular material for kitchen sinks. Stainless steel is affordable, durable and easy to clean. Stainless steel sinks can be self-rimming, undermounted, integrated or apron front. The can be unassuming or provide an industrial or professional kitchen aesthetic, depending on how they are incorporated into the larger kitchen design.

Cast Iron: Cast Iron sinks have been popular since the beginning of the twentieth century. They are extremely durable and can be finished in a large variety of different colors.

Composite or Stone: Composite or stone sinks can be mostly granite, quartz or some other stone material. They are durable, but can be harmed by some corrosive cleaners. Composite sinks come in a wide variety of shapes, colors, sizes and configurations.

Copper: Copper sinks are extremely versatile, easy to maintain and look great. Unfortunately, they can be very expensive and can be damaged.
